What role does fitness play in your life?
Fitness has always played a role in my life. I was always part of a team in school growing up. As an adult, I began to compete in marathons and triathlons as a Team in Training participant. I loved being part of a supportive team and giving to an important cause, the Luekemia & Lymphoma Society. Exercise has also been therapy for me and has helped me survive some difficult times in my life.
How would your family describe you?
Kind, funny and overly active
Do you have a charity that is close to your heart? If so, what is it and why?
Usually one related to finding a cure for cancer since I have lost some important people in my life.
What is your most treasured possession?
Even though they're not possessions, I treasure my children and the people closest to me.
What qualities do you admire in others?
Humility, confidence and honesty. I also LOVE a great sense of humor. Laughing should be a daily ritual. I struggled with confidence for a long time but have grown a lot the past few years and have become a more confident being.
What would JoyRiders be surprised to know about you?
I was named Homecoming and Prom Queen during high school, and now I’m just a tomboy! I also sleep with a teddy bear. :)
What can’t you live without?
If your life were a song title, what would it be?
May sound cliche but “Young at Heart.” I think of age as just a number and so far my body has been cooperating with my busy and active schedule. I am so thankful for what I am able to achieve each day.
If you could work out with a famous athlete, who would it be?
Not exactly a professional athlete but I am obsessed with (creator of INSANITY fitness programs) Shaun T. Would love to work out with him in person, I have many times via DVD :)
