Three Things You Didn’t Know About me — Instructor Sonya Stack
Sonya Stack brings fun energy to her high-intensity JoyAthlete and and strength-based JoySculpt (off-the-bike) classes. We are so lucky that this world traveler found JOY two years ago! A mom to four athletic boys, Sonya is constantly on-the-go, yet she still presents unparalleled calm and focus inside the studio. She shares about her path to fitness, as well as her work to advocate for mental health. Sonya can be found teaching in our Wilton, Darien and Westport studios!
1. My path to becoming a fitness instructor and trainer started while our family lived in Switzerland. Once I got our family settled in our new country, I taught boot camp/HIIT classes at a Zurich studio, and taught my own classes at the international school our boys attended. I am so lucky and thankful to have found JoyRide when we moved back to CT almost three years ago. I love, love being part of this JOYful community.
2. I am active as a community advocate with a local prevention council. I work to raise awareness and bring education to youth and families around mental health issues, as well as the impact of alcohol and substance use on adolescents.
3. I am 100% Asian and suck at math.
