What is the TRX system? A challenging workout invented by a former Navy Seal, this suspension system uses straps and handles so that you can use your own body weight to build strength. There are hundreds of exercises that can be done on the TRX suspension trainer.

What is the best thing about the TRX? It is extremely versatile and is a great exercise tool for any fitness level! The TRX may seem intimidating at first, but I assure you, it's one of the most effective fitness tools out there - and it's fun! 

It’s all about the core. No matter what move you perform on the TRX you are always working your core to stabilize your body. 

New to TRX? If you are new to TRX, we will start by making the exercises smaller so we can focus on your form first.  As you gain strength and endurance, you can work up to the full position, and/ or more challenging moves. With the TRX, even the slightest adjustment of your feet in relation to the anchor point can increase the intensity from a 2 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most challenging) up to a 10. 

It’s all about YOU! One thing I always tell my athletes in class is to avoid comparing yourself to others. You are better off building a foundation by using correct form and understanding the mechanics of your body. This will help prevent injury and enable you to make improvements at a pace that’s right for you.  

With summer upon us, this is the perfect time to try a JoyTRX class with me! Because the classes in studio 2 are smaller, it will feel like a personal training session in a small group environment!
