What’s the best way to decompress?
For me, the best way to decompress is to breathe. Whether I sit in a restorative yoga pose for a few minutes or take a vigorous walk outdoors, breathing deeply and mindfully is the only way I can truly relax.
What is your most treasured possession?
I don't really have many possessions that I care so much about, but if I had to choose I would say my stuffed Snoopy that I have had since I was a baby. He is very worn and very loved.
What can’t you live without?
Sugar. In any form. Chocolate, Swedish fish, bread, pasta... anything that turns to sugar in my body! Totally addicted!
What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
When my kids and my parents are totally happy.
How would your friends describe you?
Hold please, let me ask… "Dedicated. Genuine. Caring. Authentic."
How would your sons describe you?
Hold on, let me ask them... "Kind, caring, loving, helpful, amazing, cool and snazzy!"
What is the best advice someone gave you?
"Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about." This advice has helped me to look at everyone I interact with, with love and kindness, even if they are being mean or hateful. You never know what is going on in anyone's life.
Which quality/qualities do you most admire in others?
Being lighthearted, fun, inspiring, silly, affectionate and kind. All my favorite qualities!
Do you have a favorite charity? What is it / why?
I work closely with the CT Challenge because of all they do for people fighting cancer. I have many friends and students who have had cancer, who presently have cancer and who have lost their battles to cancer. I do whatever I can for the Center for Survivorship and other organizations relating to cancer.
