What would people be surprised to know about you?

I just recently graduated from grad school for mental health counseling. When I am not searching for music and riding a bike, I am working as a therapist at a methadone clinic focusing primarily on substance abuse therapy. In graduate school, a colleague and I designed a program that combines both fitness and therapy into one. My plan is to implement that and make it available as an alternative form of therapy in the future.

How would your friends describe you?

I’m a very genuine person with a (naughty) sense of humor. Lol!

If you could have your favorite song lyrics tattooed on you, what would they be?

Hmmm… not sure what lyric I would have. I do like tattoos -- I have four now, and I plan on getting my next one soon. My favorite tattoo was designed by my youngest sister. It represents my family’s last name and all of the members of my family have this tattoo. It is really special to me.

What’s one accomplishment you’re most proud of?

Education is extremely important to me. I am very proud to have graduated with my Master's Degree, and work full-time in a field that I love. I am also so grateful to be able to continue to teach on the bike. The bike has brought extreme joy to my life, and is always there when I need it the most.

Do you have a favorite charity? What is it / why?

Any charity that raises awareness for substance abuse treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction is a true epidemic, even in the state of CT alone.

What’s your favorite belt-it-out song?

Anything Beyonce! I was very passionate about music, especially in my college years. I had created a YouTube site, and sang my heart out. Living in Boston, I had auditioned to sing the national anthem at a Celtics game, and I got the job! It was a very special experience.

What’s your idea of perfect happiness?

Any time I get to spend quality time with my family and friends. They mean the world to me.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received (or given)?

The best gift I ever got was from my parents. They instilled this work ethic in me: You can have whatever if you want, if you are willing to work hard for it.
